Architectural design and full planning application for 36 Apartments in Blackpool
Carter-Zub were appointed to provide design feasibility studies, development appraisals and detailed designs for a new build 4,5 and 6 story 36 apartment development. We have recently submitted a full planning application on behalf of Fabrick Property Group based in Blackpool.
The fenestration at top floor levels and roofs will form continuity amongst the development, as will balconies with glazed balustrades. Whilst having positive design benefits, the balconies will also allow residents amenity areas from which they can enjoy views across Queens Promenade and the seafront.
The development will be constructed using the latest construction materials and methods. The elevations have been designed with a horizontal rhythm to visually decrease the perception of the height of the building. Using a combination of standing seam zinc panelling, render formed with shadow gaps at regular centres finished with architectural prominent horizontal glazing transoms to the higher levels.
The design has evolved using marine-themed architecture with a combination of horizontal straight lines and curved corners. The top floor glazed feature corners have been inspired by a classic lighthouse design with their curved/faceted curtain walling softening the appearance with a slight hint of art deco architecture.
The materials proposed and the design will create an aesthetically pleasing piece of architecture, positively contributing to the built environment and Blackpool’s regeneration plans.
