We are delighted and very proud to announce Harry Carter co director of Carter-Zub has been shortlisted for the RICS Matrics Young Surveyor of the Year Awards 2019 for the Building Surveying category.

The RICS young surveyor awards recognise and celebrate the most inspirational young surveying professionals in the UK! The winner in each category and the overall Young Surveyor 2019 will be announced at the awards dinner on 28 November at the Royal Garden Hotel, Kensington, London.

It has been three years since Harry set up his own, building consultancy, and partnered up with Thomas Zub which we are now proud to state that Cater-Zub is an award-winning business regulated by RICS and CIAT.

For Harry and the rest of the team it has been an absolute whirlwind.

In 2012 Harry started working for an international consultancy where he excelled throughout this time and achieved a first class BSc (Hons) degree in building surveying from the University of Salford. Whilst there, he was awarded ‘Best Performing Student’ and ‘Outstanding Performance for Design Studies’ in 2014.

Only one year later, Harry successfully became a Professional Member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS) being one of the youngest chartered members in the company.

In 2016, Carter-Zub evolved and the company is now working on high profile and prestigious projects throughout the North West and across the country. In October 2017, Harry and Thomas won the Lancashire Business View (LBV) Sub36 ‘New Business’ award. In December 2017, and went on to win the Wyre ‘Home based/Online Business of the Year’ award.

2018 was a great year for business; spreading brand awareness, growing the business by 50%, generating new connections and firmly securing future projects. Members of the team were also shortlisted for the Sub36 Business Awards for Professional, Creative and Apprentice awards.

In January 2019, Carter-Zub was shortlisted as a finalist for the LBV Red Rose Awards and a regional finalist for the LABC Building Excellence awards for the ‘Best Individual New Home’ category.

Harry is a young dedicated chartered surveyor and his career history so far is proving to be an inspiring story that has been highlighted in several business magazines and in a full article published in the Lancashire Business View Magazine that documented Harry’s career accomplishments to date and success in setting-up a successful consultancy company regulated by the RICS and CIAT. Harry’s work and achievements prove that he is proving to be an ambassador to the profession and playing a key role within the industry.

Harry and the rest of the team have delivered over 250 projects for various clients delivering exceptional results throughout the country. The company and team have received incredible feedback that has resulted in word-of-mouth referrals and repeat business. This has been hugely significant when securing new clients and new future projects.

Carter-Zub is a fast growing, vibrant and fresh company that puts a very strong emphasis on keeping up with latest industry trends. Using 3D technology, drones and virtual-reality software enables our clients to be fully involved in the collaborative design process. By doing so, we are aiming to set an industry benchmark within Lancashire. We are encouraged by the very positive feedback from customers, commenting how the 3D models have enabled them to visualise their spaces and improved their experiences.

Carter-Zub has generated a huge audience and following on social media, not only spreading the companies brand but promoting the RICS and CIAT. Just recently, Carter-Zub sponsored the ‘New Business Award’ for the Sub 36 Lancashire Business View. Subsequently, Harry mentored another business owner within Lancashire which has been a fantastic success.

Harry manages a strong team that delivers exceptional results. Client-care is a huge part of Harry’s business ethos always aiming to exceed expectations for every one of his clients. Within a very short period, Carter-Zub have been successfully appointed for many exclusive residential and commercial projects.

Harry has not only successfully built a new growing business and managed a team but has mentored new business owners, trained an apprentice building surveyor, provided guidance and mock interviews for APC candidates and lectured at the Salford University - inspiring the next generation for the RICS.

Harry was asked to return to the University of Salford to provide a lecture for their master’s level building surveying students. Showcasing his experience to date and his journey through my APC, getting chartered and becoming a director of his own regulated practice inspiring the next generation of building surveyors. The lecture was a huge success and received very positive feedback from the university and their students.

As a young professional, Harry is certainly demonstrating the valued attributes of the Royal Institute of Charted Surveyors. Winning several business awards has been a great foundation for proving to his clients he is professional and reputable member of the RICS as well as grateful recognition of Harry, Tomas and the rest of the teams hard work and effort. We are immensely proud of each award received along the way.

Carter-Zub has a fantastic pipe line of projects already planned in for the next two years. To date, we have successfully employed two additional members to our team and soon looking to expand further as we have been successfully appointed for several prestigious projects.

Carter-Zub can not wait for the awards ceremony and looking forward to meeting the other finalists. Congratulations to all that have been shortlisted.
